A hot sunny afternoon in Little Venice, London, turns out to be an ideal cure for "post royal wedding stress disorder". This quiet corner of London sees the start of thr inland waterways show calendar.

Time Out says:
Inland Waterways Association's combination trade show and boat rally, and one of the largest gatherings of inland waterway boats. Around 130 boats gather along this stretch of the Grand Union Canal to offer boat trips, stalls, refreshments and children's activities. Highlights of the event are a boat handling competition, a pageant of decorated boats and a procession of illuminated boats on Sunday evening.

"It feels more like a festival than a boatshow!" comments one of the many people I chatted to.

The main site spreads from the Pool of Little Venice to the back of Paddington station, from which there is direct access to the site. The other end of the site is a few minutes' walk from Warwick Avenue tube station. The event is open to the public from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 5pm on Monday.

The event is run entirely by volunteers.

The boatshed verdict.........

We love it !!!! Plus a huge big congratulations to the team at Boatshed Grand Union.com who have sponsored the event again this year.
