Broker's Comments
The Macwester 26 is the ideal boat for those wanting to explore further afield. As a bilge keel she suits the many estuaries around the UK, but is also capable of dealing with the open waters of the North Sea, the Channel or further. Spacious and well appointed, she offers ample space for 4 to sleep. The saloon is adaptable with good head height and room to move about. The deck area is equally spacious and whilst she is easily single handed, the deck space allows for a small crew to enjoy her sailing capabilities.
This example has been in the same ownership for the last six years. Self-maintained she does not have a service record but bills confirm a total engine rebuild this year, and has only been run for testing since. (There is a video online showing her being started and run).
All sails have been recently laundered and are presented very well, stored in fresh sail bags, they include a Mainsail, Genoa, Gib and Spinnaker. Batteries have recently been updated with 2 12v Batteries (one 100AH and one 80Ah)
Heads were recently replaced (2019) and all Sea cocks have been serviced. There is no black water tank although space is available for one to be installed.
The tech (Chart plotter, Depth etc) is quite recent but with the move to phone-based apps, the need to update is not immediate. An auto helm is also included and is quite recent.
This is a vessel that would suit a family or somebody who wants to enjoy the social side of sailing. Those who know Macwester will know their reputation as being sturdy and forgiving.
