Fanautic Club to rebrand as Freedom Boat Club

Fanautic Club is being rebranded under the Freedom Boat Club brand and service model following Freedom’s acquisition of Fanautic Club, one of the largest European boat clubs with 21 locations across Spain, which was completed in July 2021.

US-based Freedom Boat Club, a division of Brunswick Corporation, is the world’s largest members-only boat club, with over 300 locations across the US, Canada and Europe. The acquisition accelerates Freedom’s growth in Europe and marks the third European country to be a home to Freedom Boat Club locations, following France and the United Kingdom.

“We have experienced tremendous synergies between Fanautic and Freedom since our initial announcement in July 2021,” says Jason Worthy, vice president of boating services, EMEA. “We’re thrilled to begin the process of operating under one brand, which will enable us to deliver a premier boating experience for our members and expand our footprint across one of the most desirable European boating destinations.”

Freedom’s rebranded locations for the 2022 season include:

Mallorca

  • Club Nautic Arenal
  • Puerto Portals
  • Club Nautic Sa Rapita

Valencia, Valencia

  • Valencia Mar

Denia, Alicante

  • Marina El Portet de Denia

Barcelona, Barcelona

  • Marina Vela

Castelldefels, Barcelona

  • Port Ginesta

Freedom Boat Club says the phased rebranding has already started at Fanautic Club’s seven corporate locations.

Fanautic’s 14 franchise-owned locations will follow a phased approach to complete the transition to the Freedom brand and service model. The transition is expected to be completed by December 2023, and all new locations will join under the Freedom Boat Club model.

“We are incredibly proud of the heritage of Fanautic Club and our members, franchise partners and dedicated staff who have helped us achieve our success as the premier boat club in Spain,” says Diego Orallo, general manager, Spain. “Through our partnership with Freedom Boat Club and the world’s largest boat club operator, we are ready to begin our next chapter to create a best-in-class experience for our current members, as well as scale the brand across Spain and beyond.”

To spread awareness of the rebranding, the company will be exhibiting at the upcoming Palma International Boat Show, which runs 28 April–1 May, 2022.

In February, Marine Industry News reported that Freedom Boat Club is opening a new location at Hythe Marina Village in Southampton, on the UK’s south coast.

The new location is Freedom’s second company-owned location in the UK.
