Garmin® has been selected as an Official Supplier by Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, the Italian challenger for the 37th America’s Cup.

As an Official Supplier, Garmin will provide the team with its high-performance marine technology and entertainment solutions as well as a wide range of fitness products.

“It’s a great honor and privilege to once again be official supplier of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, Challenger for the 37th America’s Cup,” said Pontus Fernstrom, Garmin EMEA Marine Segment Director. “This is another important step in a project that started some years ago and has allowed our brand to extend its presence into the highest level of sailing worldwide, thanks to our top performing products and complete services.”

Born in 1997, the team has participated in five America’s Cup events with the same goal: to win the Cup and take it to Italy.

“Having Garmin by our side again is great news,” said Max Sirena, Skipper and Team Director of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli. “In an America’s Cup campaign, being able to count on high-precision electronics and reliable, on-time satellite navigation tools is a huge plus. In the past edition, Garmin products proved to be essential, and I am sure that the new generation instruments that will support us through to the 37th America’s Cup will be just as excellent, if not superior.”

In the preparations for the 37th America’s Cup, Garmin will provide its marine navigation, communication, digital switching and entertainment products to the team’s chase boats, including the zero-emissions hydrogen-powered foiling catamaran required by the 37th America’s Cup Protocol.
