ICOMIA, the International Council of Marine Industry Associations, has welcomed The Foiling Organization as a sustaining member.

ICOMIA is the international trade association representing the global marine industry. The Foiling Organization is a non-profit professional association for the promotion of the foiling industry. It covers all aspects of the industry, including boat yards, component manufacturers, designers, universities, research facilities, pro-sailors, yacht clubs, events and institutions.

Foiling is set for huge growth in the coming years and is a hot industry topic. In November 2023, METSTRADE and The Foiling Organization launched the Foiling Technology Pavilion, the first exhibition space dedicated entirely to foiling.

The Foiling Organization has recently set up headquarters in Genoa, where it aims to create a global foiling technological cluster, attracting companies and experts inspired by the same enthusiasm.

“We are delighted to join ICOMIA as a sustaining member,” says Luca Rizzotti, founder of The Foiling Organization. “The Foiling Organization is growing so fast around the world and we felt that being part of an international group who are dedicated to the recreational boating industry would help us on our journey to bring foiling into the mainstream.

“Our move to Genoa offers us excellent perspectives but, especially in the beginning, we will need significant support from forward-thinking entities willing to invest with us in future technology.”

Joe Lynch, CEO of ICOMIA, adds: “We are happy to welcome The Foiling Organization into ICOMIA and look forward to building a strong partnership with Luca and everyone involved in this exciting and innovative section of our market.

“The potential for foiling to transform the customer experience afloat, to open up new exciting opportunities and to positively impact the sustainability of our industry is huge. We look forward to helping the entire global community of boaters to connect with Luca and this great organisation.”
