Fambridge Yacht Haven says it has installed two interceptor tanks, designed to ensure oils, paint fragments and other materials are prevented from re-entering the river when boats are lifted ashore.

The Morclean Reclaim System is housed in an ‘environmental wash centre’ and collects and cleans water used when washing boats, making it available for further use, thus reducing water wastage.

“As custodians, we’re responsible for maintaining and preserving our marinas, ensuring our coastal areas are future-proofed for generations to come,” says Danyal Adams, marina manager. “We’ve listened to what our customers and the marine industry are saying about making marina operations more sustainable, so we’re delighted to become the first marina on the East Coast to utilise this state-of-the-art system.”

Furthermore, following a partnership with a new waste provider, the marina says that zero site waste ends up in landfill.

Fambridge Yacht Haven, a family owned business, is located on the River Crouch less than an hour from central London. In March 2022, boat brokerage, engineering and Yamaha servicing centre, the Boat Shop Worldwide Ltd relocated to the marina, taking tenancy of a 10,000 sqft new unit.
