This December, Maritime Yacht Services are continuing their UK expansion plans by adding an 8,000sq. ft workshop and office complex in the heart of the Solent.

This modern facility ‘Hanger 1’ based at Premier Universal Marina, Southampton, will be able to house PWCs to vessels up to 80ft in length for refit and repair works. It further cements the company’s commitment to supplying a global service to its trade and retail customers.

The ultra-modern facility is approximately the size of 12 squash courts; LED lighting and heating; making it a prime location for owners wishing the best environment for remedial works for their vessels. An additional larger door is to be fitted, providing the capacity to deliver larger refit and refurbishment projects to complement its maintenance & repair, ceramic coatings, Coppercoat application, and spray-painting services.

James Tapp, the founder, said: “The increasingly unpredictable weather meant our repair and coatings ability was limited. With this expansion, MYS can increase its offering to owners and trade alike. We shall be able to engage in more extensive, more complex repairs all year round.”

Maritime Yacht Services has a well-recognised presence in the UK and abroad, established in 2007, amid the financial crisis, the business has grown yearly through relocation and the Covid pandemic. This new facility, location and talented team are taking MYS to a new level. A passionate and experienced group of skilled craftsmen and management are committed to delivering high-quality, and a professional service to the UK and International market.

The company structure of Maritime Yacht Services is demerging. Maritime [Group] will be the holding company; Maritime Yacht Services, will be headed up by James Tapp, concentrating on the UK and commercial market under 24m; while Maritime Management specialises in the superyachts and their international tender projects, headed by Sophie Tapp with her wealth of knowledge and experience.
