Marine engine manufacturer Mercury Marine says it is continuing to solidify its market share leadership position in Europe, using the fact that it had the most engines on display at the largest European boat shows this summer/autumn to support its claim.

At the 2023 Cannes Yachting Festival, 66 per cent of the outboard on display were from Mercury, which is a division of Brunswick Corporation. In addition, Mercury says it had more than 40 per cent share at the Southampton International Boat Show, Genoa Boat Show, Grand Pavois Boat Show, and Interboot 2023 – surpassing its competitors.

“We are thrilled to have had such a dominant presence at the major European boat shows, further strengthening our position as a leader in the marine industry,” says Will Sangster, Mercury EMEA president.

“This success reflects our commitment to delivering the highest quality products and services to our customers. We would like to express our gratitude to all the attendees, partners, and our dedicated team who have made this exceptional accomplishment possible.”

Mercury’s claim follows its announcement earlier this year that it was the market share leader in Europe, with its latest high horsepower outboards, including the V10, V12 and 500R, being featured in a number of OEM launches throughout the show season.

According to Mercury, Europe is also the largest market for Mercury’s Avator 7.5e, 20e and 35e electric outboards, which were displayed on several applications at all of the shows.
