New owners for Cowes-based Kevin Mole Outboards

Kevin Mole Outboards (KMO), which deals in the sale, installation, routine service, and parts supply of outboard engines, has been sold to new owners.

The Cowes-based company, which also provides performance diagnostics and support, was founded in 1987 by Kevin Mole. Already with a client base that includes several professional sailing teams, the UK government and the RNLI, Mole sees the sale as a time for the business to expand and develop.

He comments: “The new owners, Jason Field and Tom Wilson, will bring a new lease of life to the business, bringing expansion and embracing new technology. I am excited for the future growth of KMO.”

Mole is still going to take a keen interest in the company.

“I will be staying on at KMO for the foreseeable future as head engineer,” he continues. “I am excited I have now been awarded the time to dedicate to our junior engineers, Adam Morse and Liam Brice, to enable them to develop into fully qualified Yamaha outboard technicians.

First Peninsula Marine, the specialist business sales and acquisitions agency which focuses exclusively on the marine and maritime sectors, acted as advisors and agents to the company throughout the deal.
