ONE°15 Marina

SG Marine Guide, an online platform for the Singapore boating community, has announced the launch of the Singapore Yacht Festival (SYF), to take place at One°15 Marina Sentosa Cove from 27 to 30 April 2023.

The event coincides with the dates for the revived Singapore Yacht Show in a release last December, which stated the SYS would run from 27 to 30 April 2023 at an as-yet undisclosed location. SYS has been on a three-year hiatus since the outbreak of covid.

In a statement, SG Marine Guide says: “The Singapore Yachting Festival will put an end to speculation in the market of multiple yacht shows competing to launch in Singapore. In turn, SYF will act as a stopgap to enable a fully prepared and promoted yacht show to happen in 2024.”

“Although we have a short timeline, we have been planning for an event for months,” says SG Marine Guide founder Wade Pearce. “From a strong vantage point, One°15 Marina Sentosa Cove is an ideal venue to host such an event with the marina basin surrounded by busy restaurants. It naturally captures thousands of Sentosa Cove residents, coupled with the added appeal of the yachts on display at SYF, the event will attract thousands of visitors to Sentosa from Singapore and the rest of Asia.”

Pearce spent over four years working at the Singapore Yacht Show, including two years as commercial director. In 2020, the first year that the Singapore Yacht Show was postponed due to covid restrictions, Pearce founded SG Marine Guide, an online platform for marine services in Singapore.

“Singapore’s yachting industry has expanded strongly over the past three years. In addition, expectations are high from both local dealerships and international brands looking for new distribution and clientele in the region. With such high demand, this gives us great confidence to stage an exceptional event in 2023,” says Pearce.

Arthur Tay, CEO and executive director of SUTL Enterprise, owner of One°15 Marina, says the event is “critical” to Singapore as a yachting and lifestyle destination.

“After a three-year hiatus from the last event, we are delighted to be the venue host of the Singapore Yachting Festival. Together with SG Marine Guide, we are confident to deliver an exciting and successful event in response to the booming yachting industry in Asia.”
