British Marine, organisers of the Southampton International Boat Show, has announces GAC Pindar, the marine leisure, sports and event logistics division at GAC Group, as the new official sponsor of The Shipyard for its 2024 edition.

The Shipyard, first introduced in 2023, brought a brand-new festival vibe to the show, where visitors could relax, enjoy scrumptious street food, and be entertained by a diverse musical line-up of DJ sets and live performances. The addition of big screens for live sports ensured visitors didn’t miss any action, making it the perfect place to reflect on a fantastic day at the show while soaking up the festival atmosphere.

It quickly became the heart of the show and this year, The Shipyard, delivered by GAC Pindar, is poised to transform into an electrifying hub of entertainment that’s bigger and better than ever before! Prepare for even more sensational live music and the thrill of more live sporting events, all in one vibrant location. And there’s even better news: thanks to the generous sponsorship of GAC Pindar, The Shipyard will extend its revelry until 9pm on both Saturday 14 and Saturday 21 September, offering guests extra hours to immerse themselves in the excitement of the show.

Mark Ring, Head of Events at British Marine, said: “GAC Pindar’s sponsorship of The Shipyard is an exciting development for the Southampton International Boat Show. Their return to British Marine membership and their backing for this dynamic area of the show represents a powerful alliance. This sponsorship not only elevates The Shipyard’s festive vibe, featuring live music, a diverse range of street food, live sports screenings and an abundance of entertainment, but also supports us in keeping the Shipyard gates open later on both Saturdays allowing visitors even more time to revel in a maritime celebration like no other.”

Andrew Pindar, Founder of GAC Pindar, said: “We operate at the forefront of global marine leisure, sports and event logistics, and have been a part of the sailing industry for decades. Supporting the Southampton International Boat Show is a perfect opportunity to showcase our freight forwarding capabilities to visitors and exhibitors alike. Adding our name to The Shipyard reflects our passion for the maritime industry and our commitment to the marine leisure community we serve. It is a fantastic addition to the show, and we are proud to contribute to its success.”

Martin Molloy, Head of GAC Pindar, explains GAC Pindar will be running free logistics health checks to British Marine members and exhibitors during the show. “Our logistics specialism extends throughout the world. UK importers and exporters can tap into our freight forwarding expertise with GAC experts on hand to answer questions and discuss new solutions to meet your logistics requirements.”

With enhancements at every turn, The Shipyard, is not just a space within the boat show; it’s a destination that brings together the essence of a festival – so get ready for unforgettable days and nights packed with more fun, more action, and more memories at The Shipyard!
