The RYA has announced a new four-year partnership with sailing holiday providers, Sunsail.

The investment will help support the RYA’s Together on Water strategy, ensuring people from all backgrounds can get afloat and boaters have access to clean and safe waters.

Sara Sutcliffe, RYA CEO, said: “Sustainability is at the heart of this partnership, along with our shared passion to inspire people to adventure afloat. We’re thrilled to welcome Sunsail onboard.”

As part of this new partnership, Sunsail becomes title sponsor of the RYA Dinghy and Watersports Show 2024.

Sara continues: “We’re hugely grateful to Sunsail for supporting the show. Small boat sailing and watersports unlock so many fantastic opportunities, whether that’s a career in the marine industry, progressing to sail yachts or exploring the world.”

Sustainable travel

Offering a choice of sailing holidays in over 20 inspiring locations worldwide, Sunsail is committed to a future that enables sustainable travel through their ‘OCEAN Promise’ initiative. Their goal is to continue to provide customers with authentic sailing holidays in the most responsible way.

Since 2008, Sunsail has also worked closely with the RYA’s sustainability programme, The Green Blue, promoting best environmental practice for its sailors, skippers and staff.

Commenting on the partnership, Katrina Lawson, Head of Brand and Acquisitions at Sunsail said: “We share the RYA’s commitment to sustainability and inspiring the next generation of sailors, and this partnership provides the perfect opportunity to propel our shared vision forward. We’re excited to be onboard and supporting the RYA’s ‘Together on Water’ strategy to make sailing more accessible to everyone.”
