The NWF arrives in Rutland in the Midlands next week and this year includes a homage to all things dinghy sailing.

Not only is it a chance for dedicated windlovers to celebrate their passion for all things water-based, but it’s also a chance for complete newcomers to experience the thrill of being on the water.

Free RYA supported dinghy sailing taster sessions will be open to people of all abilities with experienced instructors on hand and adapted equipment on offer. There’s also wheelchair access to and from the pontoon.

“If you’re visiting the National Watersports Festival we’re offering an experience for everyone” explains RYA Shows and Promotions Manager, Celia Edgington. “Sailing is one of the most inclusive sports around and there’s no better feeling of freedom than being out on the water whatever you’re ability”.

The family friendly sailing and windsurfing tasters are open to anyone over the age of eight and no experience is necessary. Just come along on the day and sign up at the registration desk (first come first serve) or register your interest here

NWF returns to Rutland Water in the Midlands for three days on 08-10 June, celebrating ‘everything watersports’ with standup paddleboarding, kayaking and diving all on offer along with sailing and windsurfing. There’s also racing, demos, live music, local food plus camping available on site.

For experienced sailors, tasters in dinghy and windsurfing foiling are available to book as well as the chance to demo a range of new boats from some of the leading boat builders including RS Sailing, Laser Performance, Fusion Sailboats and Hartley Boats. Rooster Clothing will also be exhibiting its latest lines.
