TeamO has launched its new Micro 170N lifejacket, designed for rib driving and day sailing. At only 0.4kg, TeamO says the new jacket is the lightest offered by any leading lifejacket firm in the UK.

The Micro, which was introduced during METSTRADE 2023, can be a fully automatic lifejacket with a 170N bladder fitted into a tiny cover and is designed to be exceptionally easy to wear.

TeamO says the ISO-approved lifejacket is ideal for rib drivers, powerboaters, inshore sailors, fishing sports and anyone working around water thanks to a low collar and cutaway back that promotes mobility. It can even be used by paddleboarders, by converting it to a manual operation.

“Most people don’t appreciate how small it is until they hold it,” says Oscar Mead, TeamO’s co-founder (pictured left).

“Most people even forget that they are even wearing it, so feedback from our fitting trials was pretty limited.”

During its first outing at METSTRADE for several years, TeamO also confirmed it has recently appointed import/export company Bainbridge International as its exclusive global distributor.

In a statement, Bainbridge says it offers TeamO the ability to ‘scale production, logistics and shipping’ from its base in Hedge End, Southampton.

“It was so wonderful to be back here (at METSTRADE); the reaction has been so positive,” said Mead, speaking after the show. “We have stock on the shelf, stable supply lines and a fantastic new partner in Bainbridge International.”
