Waypoints acquires Virgin Islands charter company
Waypoints Yacht Charters has acquired Virgin Islands charter company CYOA Yacht Charters and will take over its Frenchtown, St. Thomas base.
With the addition of a St. Thomas base, charter guests and yacht owners will be able to benefit from direct flights from many US cities, a central location for chartering throughout the Virgin Islands, with the modern conveniences and infrastructure of a US territory.
This latest acquisition follows Waypoints Yacht Charters’ recent opening of its British Virgin Islands base location in November 2021, located in the heart of Nanny Cay on Tortola. Earlier in 2021, the company also acquired Sailing Florida Charters & Sailing School, an established charter company operating in St. Petersburg, Florida, at Vinoy Marina. These locations joined the existing Waypoints Yacht Charters Annapolis base.
The yachts available for charter at each Waypoints’ location are new-model, privately-owned sailing catamarans, sailing monohulls, power catamarans, and powerboats from leading manufacturers such as Fountaine Pajot and Dufour.
Kirstie Palmer, president and partner at Waypoints Yacht Charters, took over in May of 2021 and has overseen the company’s continued expansion.

Waypoints Yacht Charters will be exhibiting at the Miami International Boat Show in February and the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show in April.
